About Us

Our mission is to raise and train service animals that are provided to people with disabilities free of charge under our parent organization, Canine Companions. In addition, we strive to increase education on the role of service dogs and advocate for more accessible spaces for disabled students and students with service dogs on campus. We partner with campus organizations and student groups in an effort to build a welcoming campus community

We are not the first collegiate organization to train service animals in campus as many colleges around the United States work with Assistance Dog International accredited organizations to establish puppy raising and volunteer programs. Campuses like Duke and Yale University have established canine behavior and cognition labs with Canine Companions to improve research on the benefits of service animals. Additionally, these programs allow students to engage in this research, and train, socialize, and even raise service dogs themselves.

We have seen first-hand how beneficial service dogs are to people with disabilities, and we would like to assure that the UCLA community greatly benefits from our efforts.

Canine Companions is a non-profit service dog training organization. The organization's focus for collegiate chapters is puppy raising. However, people can become involved in the organization through volunteering, leadership, puppy sitting, fundraising, and advocacy!

Canine Companions is organized by regions, then chapters.

We are in the Southwest region and in the LA/OC California Dreamin' Chapter.
